  • Subjects in front of computer, asked to complete task
  • Subjects encouraged to verbalize thoughts
  • Responses recorded by Observer

    Tasks users were asked to complete:
    You are planning a trip to New Orleans.
    1. You want to find a place to eat that serves Sunday brunch. You are looking for a place to eat in the French Quarter that serves French cuisine.
    2. You plan to be in New Orleans for the Fourth of July holiday. Find information about watching fireworks from the banks of the Mississippi.
    3. You want to find coupons for New Orleans attractions.
    4. You plan to be doing most of your activities at night Find an example of a late night itenary to follow during your stay
    5. You want to know what the weather will be like if you visit New Orleans in July. Find the average high temperature, average low temperature, and average percipitation for July.

    Summary

    • Easy to find coupons and weather
    • User stated that the website was too confusing while looking for holiday infornation.
    • Users did not read all options on drop down menus.
    • While booking hotel taken to a new website.
    • User not sure which site they were on.
    • Menu wording/functions confusing
