____ conducted usability testing on Neworleansonline.com. This is a travel website for New Orleans. The purpose of the tests was to assess the usability of the web design, information flow, and information architecture.

A total of 4 usability tests were performed to ensure stable results. The types of tests performed differed over an 11 week period.

In general all participants found the web site to be easy to use. The tests did find areas of improvement needed.

The test identified problems including:

  • Do Not Display Unsolicited Windows or Graphics
  • Provide Assistance to Users
  • Limit Text on the Homepage
  • Limit Homepage Length
  • Establish Level of Importance In Drop Down Menus
  • Facilitate Finding Target Information
  • Use Meaningful Link Labels
  • Indicate Internal vs. External Links
  • Limit the Use of Images
  • Organize Information Clearly
  • Ensure Usable Search Results

This website contains the participant feedback, satisfactions ratings, task completion rates, ease or difficulty of completion ratings, time on task, errors, and recommendations for improvements.
